Plaster

2015

Cast Dwellings is the artifact left after the action of me digging two holes that mimicked the prairie dog holes found on the Allen Cook Spring Creek Preserve, Wyoming. By pouring plaster into the holes, the negative space I created in the landscape is preserved despite the holes only being temporary.

The notion that a small creature, the prairie dog, can vastly change the infinite landscape around it by simply digging holes prompted my own digging.
